Dear CGU members and colleagues,
As you are aware, in late 2020 we decided to cancel this year’s in-person CGU meeting in Banff. We are pleased to provide some details about our continued efforts to stay connected as a scientific community through this year’s virtual programming.
Currently, information about online scientific sessions and a call for abstracts have been distributed by email; this information is now also being uploaded to our website and distributed via social media. For this year, our objective is to present two online sessions per week throughout June and July. The schedule will be determined based on the number of abstracts submitted by our membership and will be announced to roughly coincide with the May long weekend. A broad representation of the CGU’s various sections is anticipated for the finalized schedule, given our receipt of 15 different session proposals spanning the spectrum of CGU activities.
Differently from last year, we are formally accepting abstracts for online, virtual presentations. This is being done via email (see template provided on website) with submission due May 10 (to email@example.com). Note that the abstract submission deadline has been extended to May 17th. Abstract submissions are free this year, as is the opportunity to participate in this year’s virtual sessions. We only ask that presenters renew their CGU memberships, which also allows us to more easily communicate with members regarding session access and other details.
Thank you all for your patience as we organize this year’s scientific presentations. Please do feel free to contact us through firstname.lastname@example.org for any feedback you may have. We will be in touch soon.
